What We Do
Humane Care Foundation works with
local citizens of
more than
12 townships exposed to
severe chemical, toxic pollution on
a daily basis downwind of the
Schottegat area. More then twelve
thousand adults and five thousand
children makeup the exposed
population.
We look at the big picture of human
rights violations in relation to
environmental pollution, and we go
beyond the symptoms to confront the
underlying cause: the ISLA-refinery
and local government policies.
With a broad range of activities
based on empowerment, human rights
and sustainability, Humane Care
Foundation seeks to tap human
potential and leverage the power of
individuals and townships to unleash
a vast force for progress.

Our Mission
Our mission is to serve individuals
and families who have been or are
being exposed to norm exceeding
concentrations of chemical, toxic
pollution.
Drawing strength from our
international alliance,
experience and sponsors, we promote
a stop to the ongoing atrocities,
violation of human rights and the
rights of the child, and
environmental degradation. We
advocate for human rights justice
and corporate responsibility.
Guided by the aspirations of local
townships, we pursue our mission
with both excellence and compassion
because the people whom we serve
deserve nothing less.
Our Board of Directors
Humane Care's
board of
directors is the daily
organization's governing body,
consisting of Humane Care's
president, treasurer and secretary.
All board members must have a basic
understanding and initiating action
in support of Humane Care's mission,
goals and projects. This includes
assisting in expanding Humane Care's
outreach and increasing its
visibility and donor support. All
board members are volunteers and
serve without compensation.
The board is responsible for the
successful execution of projects,
and to that end recruits and
appoints voluntary aid workers on
project basis or enters into
partnerships with other
organizations.
The financial responsibilities of
the board and the foundation are
being monitored, controlled and
audited by an independent registered
accountant.
